Hulya Ozkoyuncu LONDON.The Association of Turkish-British Journalists’ (ATBJ), hosted the annual Reporting Awards on 15 February 2022, recognising some of the best humanitarian reporting in Türkiye (Turkey). Tekin, who reports on the conflict in Ukraine for the TRT World, has won this year’s Excellence in War Reporting prize for journalism.
The award went to Behesti Abdullah Tekin because he provided a rare insight into the reality of the Russian invasion, the award’s judges said.
For the first time since the inception of the prize, the judges decided to make a Excellence in War Reporting Award,
The journalist will receive prize at a ceremony in Turkey.
Behesti Abdullah Tekin works for TRT World as a reporter during the initial invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.
